Orange County Correctional Health (714) 647-4158
Mental health care has become a critical focus within the Orange County jail system. In 2021, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department established the Behavioral Health Bureau to address the increasing need for mental health services among individuals in custody. This specialized bureau works in close partnership with the Orange County Health Care Agency (OCHCA) and other regional providers to deliver comprehensive behavioral health support to inmates housed in county correctional facilities.
Inmates experiencing behavioral or psychiatric crises now have access to a wide range of professional services, including:
These mental health services are designed to promote safety, emotional stability, and rehabilitation while individuals remain in custody.
Each of these correctional facilities is staffed with behavioral health professionals trained to assess and manage mental health concerns around the clock.
